California’s climate and clean programs save lives and money.

Climate and clean air programs save people money, improve health and give our children a chance at a thriving future. We can’t afford to let vulnerable Californians fall further behind in the transition to cleaner, safer and more affordable technologies.

We must protect California’s clean air and climate programs!

CLEAN CARS

The state’s suite of equitable, clean transportation programs is designed to cut pollution from cars and trucks by making clean transportation options more affordable and accessible for marginalized and under-resourced communities.

The state’s clean transportation programs are already chronically underfunded. When we prioritize funding for clean car programs we directly support households and businesses hurt most by high fuel prices, pollution and a lack of affordable mobility options.

HEALTHY HOMES

The  Equitable Building Decarbonization (EBD) Program is vital to California’s clean air safety net. It relieves households facing indoor air pollution, skyrocketing energy bills, extreme heat, and unhealthy living environments by funding whole home retrofits to increase energy efficiency and provide the latest in high-efficiency electric heating and cooling.

Burning gas is a little-known source of harmful air pollution in California, responsible for four times more lung-damaging smog pollution than the state’s power plants. Gutting funding for the EBD program will have real-life consequences for low-income households and people of color, who bear higher energy burdens, live in less energy-efficient homes, and are exposed to more indoor air pollution.

POLLUTER SUBSIDIES

Why are equitable clean air programs suffering while big polluters benefit from handouts?

California taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for subsidizing Big Oil and dirty infrastructure. We should fund programs that save lives and money and end polluter handouts!
